Artist Biography

Debra Lohrere is a Multi-award winning Australian artist born in Warragul, Victoria in 1962. She now resides in Queensland. Debra has been painting for over 40 years, selling her first oil painting at the age of 16.
Debra's paintings hang in collections around Australia and in the USA. She works from her home/studio in Tamborine Mountain and has been a member of the Ipswich Art Society and Royal Queensland Art Societies. Debra tours Australia working alongside TV celebrity artist Wayne Clements, Host of the Logie Nominated show “Art Studio”.
Debra has exhibited at the Agora Gallery in New York and received critical acclaim in the New York magazine “ARTisSpectrum”, as well as been featured in numerous newspaper articles.
As a teenager she studied at the Alexander Art Gallery under Marlene Leary and Aubrey Hinchcliffe.
Debra's works vary in subject matter, genre and colour, working in both oils and acrylics she creates a range of dynamic impressionist, expressionist and abstract paintings, all alluringly unique. Her object as an artist is to communicate her perspective of the world around her, delving into the very essence of her subject matter. She embraces vibrant and stunning colours in her artwork, focusing on harmony, balance and contrast. Her colourful portraits aim to delve into and express the inner personality of her subject matter.
Debra has exhibited in numerous exhibitions and galleries around Australia and in New York.
